Bring on the Image Searches
February 12th, 2012 by Mike Brady
Today we added image searching to Charity Search. Just click images in the top navigation bar to begin. You can search for images with Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Just like web searching, each image search raises one cent for our organizations. We will be adding more types of searching very soon, as well as adding more functionality to our user accounts, so keep an eye out for that!
Advertising on Charity Search
February 8th, 2012 by Mike Brady
Charity Search is modeled around the idea of advertisements paying for our donations. Our goal is to donate 1 cent for every search we receive. To achieve that goal we have ads on the search page, which we get paid for showing. To meet that goal of donating 1 cent per search we have to earn at least 1 cent for the amount of ads seen for every search. Currently, there are 3 ads on the homepage so we need to be earning 1/3 of a cent for each time one of those ads is shown. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
