Privacy on Charity Search
Charity Search respects your privacy. We do not save any search queries or personally identifiable information.
What information does Charity Search store?
Every time a search is performed we keep track of it. This is so we know how many searches have been performed each month and how much to donate to each organization. We only store two pieces of information from each search:
- Date of the search
- What search engine was chosen
What information does Charity Search NOT store?
Besides the date and search engine used, we do not store any other information about each search. To help you understand how your privacy is protected here are a few of the things that we could be storing, but are not:
- Your IP Address
- What you searched for
- What time of day you searched
- What browser you are using
- What website you were at before you came to Charity Search
- Etc.
There are many things that a website can know about you when you visit it. At Charity Search we do not worry about all the possible information that is available. We only care about the information that allows the site to function. That information being, date and search engine used.
User Accounts
To create an account you only need to provide a username, your email address, and a password. We will not sell or disclose any of your account information. We encrypt all of our users' passwords before storing them in our database.
